A Time For Giving Thanks

Good read, posted by Azriel from a sport forum:

As we eagerly approach another Thanksgiving, it is appropriate to reflect on all that we each have to be thankful for. Whether our assets include love, friendship, family, good health, finances, and/or "just" happiness, thankfulness is due. We Cowboys fans should be especially thankful. In addition to some or all of the above, we are blessed with a team that has us all brimming with unbridled excitement and resurgent anticipation.

Sure, it's just football, but who among us doesn't flat-out feel better about life right now? Who among us doesn't unabashedly smile these days at the mere mention of "The Dallas Cowboys"? Who among us doesn't walk with just a little more bounce in our steps? Who among us hasn't at least thought about buying some new Cowboys garb or paraphrenalia, to proudly sport any and everywhere? Who among us doesn't feel at least just a little bit better about OURSELVES because we're fans of THE Dallas Cowboys right now? Sure, some of us complain at least every other week about BP's "3 Yards and a Cloud of Dust" offensive philosophy, Sean Payton's play-calling, the games being too close, or our Defense giving up too many big plays. And all of those are legitimate, debatable points. But isn't it great to be in a position to gripe about "only" being 7-3 instead of 9-1 or 8-2...or what the heck...10-0, instead of wondering if we'll break .500 for the season? For those of us ...uhhh... YOU (LOL) who never complain, and are just thrilled to no end at where we are, isn't that a marvelous feeling...."just" WINNING!

So, as we each celebrate Thanksgiving in our own way, including but not limited to over-eating and/or over-drinking and of course, rolling up in front of the TV to watch our "Boyz" take on "Da Donkeys", take a moment...just a moment...and give thanks to Whoever or Whatever for OUR 2005-2006 Dallas Cowboys...still AMERICAS' TEAM, and most importantly ... OUR team!
