Scouts Inc. likes the Watkins and Stanley picks
TIDBITS from Scouts Inc.
--------------------------
• Since second-day selections generally don't have ideal natural ability, it's critical that teams use these pick to get players who have the tools to excel in their scheme. That's why Dallas taking Florida State FS Pat Watkins (pick No. 138) is an excellent move. Though he is undersized, Watkins has excellent range. His ability to cover so much ground in coverage will allow SS Roy Williams to line up close to the line of scrimmage more often, and that's where he is at his best. With that in mind, Watkins could very well replace Keith Davis before the start of the regular season.
• Louisville DT Montavious Stanley (No. 182) is an excellent fit for the Cowboys' 3-4 scheme because he has the size to occupy multiple blockers. He should provide great depth behind Jason Ferguson, who tends to wear down when he plays too many snaps.
