Beriault stands out

Mickey Spagnola

New Safety

"First-year safety Justin Beriault was just glad to be back on the football field this past weekend, having missed his entire rookie season following rather extensive knee surgery. And while the Cowboys had him working at strong safety behind Roy Williams, he could become a candidate to challenge for the starting free safety spot in training camp.

Beriault, who had problems keeping his weight up last year, has grown obviously bigger, and on Sunday once again displayed some of the coverage skills he had last summer before his knee began to give him problems. Beriault broke up several passes, and at times aggressively broke in front of receivers."

It seems like Beriault stands out in a crowd...the kid just makes plays...I think it will be hard to keep him off the field.

Even after the first day of mini-camp, Parcells sounded excited to watch Beriault on the practice film.
