FWST: A strange envelope falls at T.O.'s feet
Friday, Aug. 18
OXNARD, Calif. -- Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens has rock star status.
That leads to all kinds of strange things happening around him, including an incident before practice Thursday.
When Owens jogged past the fans behind the fence on his way to the practice field, a man tossed a manila folder at his feet.
Owens didn't see the folder and it seemed like some fan was just desperate for an autograph.
Oxnard police officers picked it up and supposedly found "legal papers" that indicated Owens was being served.
The police said it looked more like a letter than anything legal and returned it to the man as he was leaving.
Cowboys fan Johnny Don, 18, was standing next to the man at the fence and thought he was just another fan.
"He just stood there and kept asking when is T.O. going to come out," Don said. "When he threw it, he said, 'You've been served legal papers."
Welcome to T.O.'s world.
