DMN Blog: SNF ratings
The Cowboys 2007 debut against the Giants pulled a 33.6 rating for Channel 5 last night. That's a monster number. That means 820,000 homes in Dallas-Fort Worth or slightly more than one-third of all homes with TVs tuned into the game. Almost 50 percent of the homes in which TVs were actually turned on watched the game.
Last season's SNF games on NBC scored 34.3 (Redskins), 33.7 (Panthers), and a season-high 36.6 (Saints debacle).
The Cowboys audience locally was: 30 times larger than the Rangers-A's on Sunday; 13 times larger than tennis' U.S. Open men's final; 11 times larger than the PGA Tour's which featured a Tiger Woods victory and eight times larger than NASCAR's.
