DMN Blog: Full-blown QB controversy in Buffalo
There's a quarterback controversy in Buffalo, which is fitting with Wade Phillips coming to town.
Phillips went 29-19 in three seasons as the Bills' head coach, but his Buffalo tenure is best remembered for the Doug Flutie/Rob Johnson QB controversy. Well, that and the Music City Miracle.
Buffalo is buzzing about J.P. Losman/Trent Edwards now.
Losman, who the Bills traded up to pick in the deal that resulted in Marcus Spears becoming a Cowboy, is out with a knee injury. That opened the door for the rookie. Edwards took advantage by completing 22 of 28 passes for 234 yards in a rare Bills win, and now folks in Buffalo are lobbying for Losman to lose the job for good.
