DMN Blog: Pay Flo or let him go?

Superstar columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor writes in this week's newsletter that it appears Jerry Jones is leaning toward re-signing Flozell Adams.

That didn't appear to be the case as the Cowboys' longtime left tackle entered his contract year, but it makes sense.

The Cowboys will be a Super Bowl contender for the next two or three years. You'd rather not have a LT cutting his NFL teeth protecting Tony Romo's blind side during that time. As well as this O-line has played, the Cowboys should want to keep it together.

Flo will frustrate fans with his false starts, but he's playing at a Pro Bowl level two years after blowing out his knee. Just look at his performances against premier pass-rushers the last two weeks. He shut down Eagles DE Trent Cole, who entered the game leading the NFL in sacks. Giants DE Osi Umenyiora was a non-factor other than a cheap sack on a busted play.
