The Dallas Morning News reports the time off during last week's bye allowed the coaches to get Cowboys NT Tank Johnson work with the first-team defense. Under suspension until next week, Johnson has returned to the scout team for this week, allowing those who will play Sunday to prepare without interruption. But HC Wade Phillips agreed that the extra work last week will ease the transition before the Nov. 11 game at the Giants. Phillips said Johnson's conditioning is strong. "He's learned the defense," Phillips said. "From what I can tell when he was in pads, he's looked very quick and very strong. He seems to be in good condition."
