Cowboys signed NT Jay Ratliff to a five-year, $20.5 million contract extension through 2012. The deal includes an $8 million signing bonus

At 6-4/298, Ratliff isn't the ideal nose for a 3-4 scheme, but his technique and penetration skills make him a fit in coach Wade Phillips' aggressive version. Ratliff has 13 QB pressures, which ranks second on the Cowboys. Dallas could now cut ties with incumbent Jason Ferguson in the offseason.
