DMN Blog: Could Cowboys be Alexander's next team?

Shaun Alexander isn't available yet, but he will be soon after the Seahawks signed 1,700-yard back-to-be (just kidding!) Julius Jones and T.J Duckett.
Cowboys Blog founder Matt Mosley, who now toils in obscurity at ESPN.com's Hashmarks, got to speculating about Alexander's potential next stop. And -- whaddaya know?! -- the Cowboys came up.
Does Alexander still have a place in this league? Oh, I suppose so, but you get the feeling that he's lost the desire now that his skills are in full retreat. He's had an excellent career, but he never displayed the passion that fans yearned for. When he struggled the past two seasons, they wanted to see the pain on his face.
But that's not the way Alexander's wired. He could go somewhere and be a backup (Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Cincinnati), but his days as a feature back have come and gone.
Well, if Alexander's averages of 3.6 and 3.5 yards per carry the last two seasons don't get you fired up, maybe Mosley's strong endorsement will do the trick.
But if you're still bitter about the Joey Galloway trade, maybe you're in favor of Alexander becoming a Cowboy. It'd kinda be like getting back one of those first-round picks, just without any tread left on the tires.
