Wade and Jerry refurnishing the House that Bill Built

from www.fannation.com

It is our house now!

There were some leaks in the house that Parcells built in Dallas. A so so defense, a so so offense, a so so kicker and an uptight coaching staff.

In came Mr. Fix it also known as cupcake and a young talented coach called Garrett.

The defense stayed so so throughout the year although it improved game by game little by little. The offensive started explosive but imploded during what turned out to be the final drive of the season in a divisional play-off game. The result a 13-4 record but again an early exit in the play-offs.

Could have been better could have been far worse.

The main distractions during the latter weeks of the season were the hiring away of personnell by the newly appointed boss of the Dolphins Bill Parcells and overconfidence by the team going into the NY Giants game, which they surprisingly gave away. Still they came close.

For next year the outlook appears good. Owens will return better than ever and some defensive needs were addressed in the offseason. Others to follow. Main loss appears to be Keith Davis on special teams. The core of the team stayed together.

If the price is right Pacman Jones will join the Pokes. Look for the Cowboys to add receivers, multi purpose running backs and speedy hard-nosed defenders through draft and deals.

The coaching staff is now fully appointed,if I am not mistaken, by Jerry, Wade and Jason.

With more and more starts under his belt and private life settled look for a calmer Romo next year in a more balanced attack designed by the Red Baron. He got over the botched punt at Seattle, he will get over the Giants loss and Jessica Simpson matter.

The regular season record will very likely drop to 12-4 or 11-5 but look for the Cowboys to make a run deep into January 2009. If for whatever reason the defense fails coming season Wade will be gone in 2009.

The house Bill built will look like a castle next fall and could last for years to come.
