Romo's an elite vertical QB

ESPN Football Scientist KC Joyner is doing a series of studies to determine who are the best "vertical" players at a bunch of positions. In other words, who puts up the best numbers on downfield plays?

Tony Romo is tied with Tom Brady for fifth in the vertical QB rankings with 12.2 yards per attempt.

That's swell and all, but the fact that Atlanta's Chris Redman and Houston's Matt Schaub top the list indicate that these rankings aren't all that important.
