Lindy's Football Mag on the Cowboys Draft Picks

1 (22) Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas
A bit overshadowed by Darren McFadden, but Jones can play...Fast, tough to bring down despite upright style, has good hands and is a downfield threat...Almost as versatile as MvFadden, would make a fine kick returner too...Not afraid to stick his head in on blocks, especially in pass protection...Might have better hands than any running back this year.

1 (25) Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
One of the better prospects from a strong crop...Comes off strong season...Very fast and has good footwork in coverage...Sticks with his man on most routes...A ballhawk who sometimes gets too aggressive going for interceptions...Not afraid to stick it in there against the run, which helped raise his stock...Has had off-field issues...Could start right away for Cowboys

2 (61) Martellus Bennett, TE, Texas A & M
Won't get deep, but will find seams over the middle and catch the ball...Difficult to tackle...Improved throughout his career with Aggies...Pretty good blocker, but has some technique issues...Needs soem time to develop...Could replace traded Anthony Fasano

4 (122) Tashard Choice, RB, Georgia Tech
Transfer from Oklahoma who made decent impact for Tech...Goes down a bit too easily, but is good on cutbacks...Sees the field well and doesn't give up on plays...Has had knee problems...Could be a quality receiver on 3rd downs...A project.

5 (143) Orlando Scandrick, CB, Boise State
Smart player who understands his position...Makes the best of his skills, especially in short coverage...Also can help on special teams...Might struggle in his backpedal, but that can be coached...Worth a look.

6 (167) Erik Walden, LB, Middle Tennessee State
A defensive end who will be converted to linebacker...Should get some work in pass rushign situations and in spelling Dallas' starters...Also can be a factor on special teams.

Good Move: Mike Jenkins might be the steady cornerback Dallas has lacked.

Tell me Why: Choice was more of a luxury pick; another running back wasn't a need.

Could Surprise: Not Jerry Jones, who wanted a Razorback and got one.
