COWBOYS HEADING TO CALIFORNIA, AGAIN

Posted by Mike Florio on July 18, 2008, 3:50 p.m. EDT

With no team in Los Angeles, entrepreneur extraordinaire Jerry Jones realizes that folks in Southern California are looking for an NFL franchise to follow.

And so Jones likes to pack up the operation and send the team from Texas to Oxnard, California for training camp.

This year, the effort is being described as a circus, which could make folks except to see much more drama when they see an actual circus.

The Cowboys have a brash and outspoken owner, a $1 billion stadium waiting for the team’s arrival in 2009, Super Bowl expectations for the coming year, a head coach with a short leash, his eventual replacement already on staff, and hot-button players like Tony Romo, Terrell Owens, Roy Williams, Terry Glenn, Tank Johnson, and Adam Jones.

And NFL Films will be there to record every moment of it, for eventual display on HBO.
