HENRY CHARGES DROPPED: Now is Henry on Dallas radar?

Posted by Mike Florio on July 14, 2008, 10:05 a.m.

Former Bengals receiver Chris Henry was scheduled to stand trial (again) on Monday for assault and battery charges that resulted in a hung jury earlier this month.

But before the guy with the Hollywood snapping board thing could say “take two,” the case ended.

According to media reports emerging from Cincinnati, the charges against Henry have been dropped.

Apparently, the prosecution made some preliminary motions, which were denied. After the decision was made, the state dismissed the case.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had indefinitely suspended Henry, pending the resolution of the charges arising from his most recent arrest.

Now that the matter has been resolved in his favor, Henry could be free to sign with an NFL team.

After being dropped by the Bengals, Henry said that he’d like to play for the Cowboys or the Saints.

In Dallas, Henry would be reunited with Adam Jones, Henry’s college teammate at West Virginia University.

As one league insider opined to us a while back regarding the simultaneously presence of Jones and Henry in Morgantown, “It’s surprising no one was killed while they were there.”
