DMN Blog: Get fired up about Felix Jones

It's probably a little premature to put Felix Jones in the Ring of Honor, but he had a heck of a preseason debut.

Jones made two plays that gave Cowboys fans a glimpse of the reasons the Cowboys used a first-round pick on the former Razorback. They wanted a big-play back to complement Marion "The Barbarian" Barber's punishing style. Consider his 19-yard run and 28-yard reception signs of highlights to come.

On both plays, Jones made a cut near the line of scrimmage to make a Charger miss. And then he showed his acceleration.

"Man, he's got a gear that he can hit and it doesn't even look like he's changing gears," Patrick Crayton said with wide eyes.

The swing pass was especially sweet. At least six Chargers had a shot at Jones before he went down.

"It was real fun to go out there and show the fans that Jerry Jones made some great picks," Felix said. "It was exciting. I had a lot of fun."

And it's gonna be a lot of fun to watch this kid.
