DMN Blog: Stock Report
by Calvin Watkins
We are almost nearing the end of what looks like another Cowboys' loss.
Stock up and Stock down time.
Stock up
1. Richard Bartel. Led the team to a field goal and looked a lot better in completing passes. Struggled at times including missing a wide open receiver in the end zone.
2. Brad Johnson. Can we now leave Brad Johnson alone? Finished two scoring drives including a long pass play.
3. Adam Jones. Returned a punt for 24 yards before the punter stopped him.
4. Evan Oglesby. Played well including strong coverage on a deep ball in the fourth quarter.
5. Rodney Hannah. Has made several catches, including some underneath stuff.
Stock Down
1. Tony Romo. Hasn't practiced well in about a week. He misfired on a long pass to Sam Hurd, who had a few steps on a defender.
2. Alan Ball. The backup corner had his worst outing since the start of training camp.
3. Mike Jenkins. Was beaten on a touchdown pass in the end zone.
4. Pat McQuistan. Lined up in the backfield on a sack of Richard Bartel.
5. Injuries. Chris Canty, Justin Rogers, Deon Anderson and Ronnie Cruz were all hurt in this game. Cruz wasn't going to make this team, but his injury didn't help his chances. Rogers is a key special teams player. Canty wanted to return, we think he might be OK. Rogers didn't return. Hopefully we'll hear from him after the game.
