DMN Blog: Stock Report

by Calvin Watkins

The game is over and its time to look at some of the key players.

Stock Up

1. Marcus Spears. Had his best game of the preseason with two key tackles at the line of scrimmage.

2. Marc Colombo and Flo Adams. The two tackles took control of Mario Williams the whole night.

3. Marion Barber, pictured at right. Averaged 5.8 yards per carry on 13 touches.

4. Bobby Carpenter. Started on some passing downs and led the team with eight tackles. Wade Phillips said Carpenter had a great first half.

5. Orlando Scandrick. Participated on the nickel and dime packages and his finding a comfort level.

Stock Down

1. Nick Folk. Made some field goals, but special teams coach Bruce Read said Folk has to get his kickoffs a little higher so the unit can cover better.

2. Isaiah Stanback. Was off to a good night, but a fumble and a injury set him back.

3. Courtney Brown. Didn't attack Sage Rosenfels when he ran toward the end zone for a touchdown.

4. Alan Ball. He's going to have a hard time making this team right now. He's had three penalties the last two games.

5. Mike Jefferson. Had a nice start but suffered a drop and didn't stretch out his arms on a deep pass.
