Great Teams Find A Way To Win

Source: stations.espn.go.com

That's right folks, it doesn't matter how pretty or how close it is, a win is a win in the NFL. The Cowboys did what they had to do yesterday and came away with the win. I don't care how they did it; all I care is that they did it. They turned it on when they had to and relaxed when they could. But when the clock said 0:00, the score was Dallas 31, Cinci 22. And guess what, we are now 4-1, good enough for a share of 2nd place in the NFC. A nice place to be sitting at this point in the season.

Great teams find a way to win. Let's not forget who is on this Bengals team. They have one of the top 5 tandems in receivers in the league, a top 5 QB and a solid 2 back running system. This is a GOOD team. The 0-5 record doesn't do them justice. They are not just having breaks turn their way. After all, they took the World Champion Giants to overtime and almost pulled it out! So, I think it's a pretty good win seeing as how we were able to take care of business during the regulation 60 minutes in the game.

TDs, Felix Jones continues to show why he will be a Hall of Famer and Marion Barber had another workhorse day and how about that trick touchdown throw to Patrick Crayton? That takes a lot of concentration to tip the ball precisely to another player on the field when you have a couple of defenders around you. And let's not forget T.O. What a run he had after that catch. Is it just me or did it look like he hit another gear we haven't seen yet! That guy was FLYING down the field. That's why you get him the ball.

Our defense stepped up when it counted. They made the stops this week when necessary. Adam Jones is getting close to grabbing some interceptions, and Greg Ellis came up big with the team's first pick of the year! That was a thing of beauty seeing the big fella rumble down the sideline almost putting 6 points up on the board. And how about Demarcus Ware? 8 straight games with a sack (it may be more, I haven't checked yet). This guy is a monster. Jay Ratliff is picking up where he left off last year and Keith Davis made a crucial deflection on the 2 point conversion play. So, let me repeat myself - Great teams find a way to win the game.

This could have been another trap game. My Boys did appear to let off the gas a little bit once they got up 17-0, but they showed what they are made of by turning the switch back on when they had too. That's what great teams do. Don't fear Cowboy nation. Winning is all that matters at the end of the day. No one will remember how you win at the end of the season. All they will remember is that you took care of business when you needed to take care of business.

Next up, Arizona. We seem to play lights out when we are on the road, so I am expecting a big win. Like by 20 points big. See you guys next week.
