Giants Open With Skins, Cowboys

From Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star Ledger:

The NFL schedule won’t be released until 7 p.m. Tuesday night, but a few tidbits are starting to trickle in from sources behind the scenes. The first of said tidbits is the Giants’ season opener: at home against the Redskins.

The game will kick off at 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 13. And since CBS will carry the U.S. Open final late in the afternoon, it appears Giants-’Skins will be the headliner of the late Fox games, which means a lot of you folks out of the market will get that game.

Also, I’m hearing that, in a flip of last year’s schedule, the Giants will be playing a lot of road games early, including Week 2 at Dallas in the opener of the Cowboys’ new stadium. I’m told that will be the NBC Sunday Night game.

The early slate of road games likely means a heavy dose of home games late. And I’m thinking the Giants will be home in Week 17 to close out the stadium that bears their name.

Yes, I'm aware of this. Don't know what to tell you, as I've heard nothing new since I was told a little more than a week ago the odds of a Braylon Edwards to the Giants trade were slim but not zero.
