Monday PM practice blog by Timmy Mac
Live from the Alamodome X (08/03/2009)

Let's start off with a little news: ILB Stephen Hodge will practice for the first time in camp. He had his knee scoped this spring.
Hodge, a safety at TCU, is expected to be a special teams stud. He has potential as a nickel/dime linebacker.
Isaiah Stanback is "close to being back," Wade Phillips said. Surprisingly, so is NT Tim Anderson, who is recovering from off-season toe surgery.
On to the questions ...
3:05
[Comment From Bill In DC]
Sounded (read?) to me like the Defense tattooed the offense this morning. Is that your assessment as well?
3:07
No question about it. And the offense met as a group on the field immediately after practice to discuss the issue.
When chatting with the media afterward, Jason Witten said something along the lines of the offense needing to be able to respond when things go wrong.
The worst part about it, in my opinion, is that the offense didn't have success when the defense was playing a 4-3. Of course, the only reason the defense played a 4-3 was to serve as a scout team.
3:08
Felix Jones is doing pushups as punishment for muffing a punt. It's still hard to see him in that role this season. He just isn't reliable enough catching the ball.
3:08
[Comment From Heath]
I hear a lot about how Mickens is making plays, but Isn't he slow on deep balls? I think his 40 was above 4.5 isn't it?
3:10
Mickens has given up more big plays than any other cornerback in camp. He had an especially rough 7-on-7 session yesterday.
His 40 time was 4.54. Not sure how much his knee affected that. And there's a chance his knee could still be an issue, although he said during rookie minicamp that it wasn't bothering him.
When the Cowboys drafted Mickens, they said their doctors didn't think the knee would be a long-term problem, but they weren't sure if Mickens would be 100 percent this season.
3:10
[Comment From Sam]
Is Brandon Williams still ahead of Victor Butler or has Butler's strong camp thus far caught him up from the missed OTAs?
3:12
Not sure that one guy is ahead of the other at this point. They're both working with the second team.
Brandon Williams is more of a power player who has been better than anticipated against the run. Butler has a bigger arsenal of pass rush moves.
3:12
[Comment From TWD]
How do you think Sam Hurd is looking, he seems to be getting better each practice.
3:12
Sam Hurd had a heck of a weekend. But so did Miles Austin. Hurd is the No. 4 receiver, a role he readily accepts.
3:13
[Comment From Wade Phillips]
The Eagles just lost Bradley to a torn ACL during full contact practice. How are my cupcakes tasting now?
3:13
Good point, Wade, but shouldn't you be focused on practice?
3:15
Barber had 204 in 2007 and averaged 4.8 yards per carry. He had 238 last year and averaged 3.7 yards per carry.
I think Barber is at his best in limited doses because of his all-out running style. They can afford to limit his carries with Felix Jones and Tashard Choice in the mix. And they want to make sure he's fresh for December and January.
3:15
[Comment From Shon]
Tim do you really believe that Barber will only get 12 carries per game? I would think something like 240 (15 per game) is more realistic. Especially with a run oriented offense.
3:15
Got my Q&A reversed there.
3:17
[Comment From Scott]
Does the Eagle's loss of Stewart Bradley alter your predictions for the NFC East?
3:18
It's a big loss for the Eagles, but there will be other significant injuries in the division. Every team is likely to lose a key player at some point. I still see it as Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, Redskins.
3:18
[Comment From Jim]
Hi Tim....great job...My question is...Do you think all the talk of the Turnovers with Romo will make him gun shy? Seems I've read a lot about dump off passes. Is that good coverage or is Tony afraid to throw into coverage?
3:21
That's the dilemma: Will Tony Romo lose the gunslinging quality that makes him an elite (or close to it) QB if he's worried about toning down his risk-taking?
It's such a good question that I asked it to him. Here's his take:
http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/ar...win-champ.html
He hasn't looked hesitant during camp. He's had days where he's had a lot of success in the intermediate range (15-25 yards) and further downfield. But you can't really tell until Romo faces a pass rush, because most of his risks come after protection breaks down.
3:21
Pretty sure that Marc Colombo and Flozell Adams will get the afternoon off to rest their battle-scarred legs on the third straight day of two-a-days.
3:21
[Comment From George]
Tim, good job! Sorry a few haters pop up here now and then. No questions, you cover everything that pops into mind, just keep up the good work and try to convince Jerry to give up on Stanback already, it's a lost cause!!
3:23
Don't think Jerry is ready to do that yet, and Stanback might still be the fifth-best WR in camp. But that's kind of a back-handed compliment.
An idea some media types discussed over soul food at Tommy Moore's -- red beans and rice was great -- was keeping only four receivers on the 53-man roster and stashing two or three young ones on the practice squad.
3:23
[Comment From Dallas Fan in Va]
whats your honest opinion of B.Carpenter? is really doing good in the nickle role or is he just all we have? i know K.Brooking isnt the answer in coverage but which rookie could push for that role?
3:25
I've said and written several times that I believe Bobby Carpenter can be an adequate to above-average nickel/dime LB.
I don't think Brooking will get a legit shot at that role. At his age, it's time to make him a two-down player.
Jason Williams' head is spinning. He's not ready to contribute in any role outside of special teams.
Stephen Hodge, as a converted safety, covers well for a linebacker. He could help in the nickel and dime, but not sure he'll be ready this season after missing so much time with the knee injury.
3:25
[Comment From Andrew]
Hatcher was one of my pet cat from that draft and i had high hopes for him. How is he looking in camp? After that injury during training camp under Stewart, i haven't seen or heard much of him. Does it look like he has recovered fully? Any chance of him making a significant impact this season?
3:26
He had off-season knee surgery and looks like a guy chipping off the rust. He doesn't look explosive at all coming off the ball.
3:26
[Comment From Whitey]
How has Olshansky looked so far in practice? Haven't heard too much about him.
3:27
He's not a guy you notice much unless you're watching him. He holds his ground against the run, helping the linebackers make plays. He isn't a real pass rush threat.
3:27
[Comment From Justin]
Are Romo / Garrett having to babysit Martellus on where he is supposed to be in the "special" formations? Or is he more aware / playbook savvy this camp?
3:29
Marty B might be the biggest success story in camp. He's been consistently productive and hasn't had any obvious mental busts. It's obvious that he took care of business during the break, somehow finding time while tweeting, shooting videos, going to the clubs, traveling to outer space, etc.
Heck, his leaping TD catch over Bradie James was one of the offense's only bright spots in this morning's practice.
3:29
[Comment From Mitch]
Have they been running the Wildcat yet?
3:30
They call it the Razorback, and they haven't run it during camp, but they will.
3:30
[Comment From Kace in Austin]
We always hear how Miles Austin has the T.O. size and speed if he can just put it all together. My question is about Hurd. He looks huge and is obviously tearing it up. Has he always been this big, and does he clearly look better than Miles this TC?
3:31
No.
Hurd had a very good weekend. Austin had a great weekend.
Austin is significantly faster and gets better separation. Austin is also doing a much better job with the subtle part of route running, such as settling into open spots in the zone.
3:31
[Comment From Matt]
Tim just out of curiousity, has it looked like Tony has worked on his mechanics at all this offseason? I know there were some irratic throws last season due to sloppy mechanics and a poor follow through. Not to mention he throws the ball more side armed than the majority of NFL QBs which can affect some throws.
3:32
Yes.Check out this story for some details.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...s.3bf9752.html
3:32
[Comment From SP Focus]
Alothas been said about the focus on Special Teams this year. Would you be able to provide any color on thigs like who is has the inside track on being the holder? Romo - sans Seattle - was good at it, any chance he could do it?
3:33
Romo's days as holder ended with the Seattle Slip, but that's because starting QBs hardly ever fill that role.
Mat McBriar has the inside track.
3:33
[Comment From manbearpig]
Tim enjoy your blog keep up the good work. Do you think the game plan this year is to try and dominate on on D and have romo be more of a game manager like the Ravens try to do
3:35
More of a game manager? Yes. A bus driver? No.
The Cowboys will run the ball more often than last season, but they're still counting on Romo to make a lot of plays and spread the ball around to weapons like Jason Witten, Roy Williams, Martellus Bennett, Miles Austin and Felix Jones.
3:35
[Comment From dennis]
Although its not even a week into camp can you give me your most impressive and least impressive player that was thought to be a roster lock?
3:37
I'm not counting guys who have been to Pro Bowls for the most impressive.
Given that, I'd go with Bennett and Anthony Spencer.
Least impressive roster lock? Hmmmmm ... well, we are still waiting for a certain No. 1 receiver to look that he belongs in that role.
3:37
[Comment From TSmitty]
Could you focus on the safety position when Hamlin and Sensabaugh are on the field? Curious about how aggressive Sensabaugh is in run support? Also, which of the two are lining up nearer the LOS?
3:38
That's really tough to tell when they aren't tackling. It's one thing to be in position to make the play, which Sensabaugh seems to be on a regular basis. It's another to tackle Marion Barber when he has a head of steam.
3:39
They're done working on kickoff. Buehler was booming 'em into the end zone, then they worked on onside kicks, including a wacky two-kicker look.
Passing lines and position warmup drills have started.
As expected, the two starting OTs have the afternoon off.
3:39
[Comment From Ryan]
Does Jesse Holley have a chance of making the team?
3:39
About as good as your chance of winning the grand prize with those new Cowboys lottery tickets.
3:40
[Comment From James]
Now that you have observed the 2009 Rookie Draft Class in camp for almost a week now do you think that this is a better class than at the end of April?
3:42
Not sure about that.
Fifth-round SS Mike Hamlin is the only guy I'd bet has a future as a starter. Third-round LB Jason Williams has the athletic potential to be an impact player, but he's completely lost out there.
Like what I've seen from Victor Butler, Brandon Williams and John Phillips, but I don't see any of those guys ever being starters for the Cowboys. They can help in non-special teams roles this season, though.
Buehler is a stud if you're into kickoff specialists.
But a draft that produces only one or two starters isn't going to be considered a great class.
3:43
[Comment From Bill In DC]
Without major injuries and given the DB performance so far in camp, what's the over/under on Jerry bringing Adam Jones back?
3:44
I'd say there's a less than 10 percent chance of that happening at this point. Jerry didn't even want to answer a question about whether he thought Pacman would play in the league this season.
3:45
Be back in a minute. Gotta look up a phone number real quick for a co-worker.
3:46
[Comment From Kace in Austin]
Will Spencer be able to get it done? Will he actually become a standout on defense?
3:46
I'm not ready to predict a Pro Bowl berth quite yet. But I think he can be a force against the run and get about eight sacks this season.
3:47
Offense running plays vs. air, defense doing position drill.
Practice updates will start once the action goes live.
3:47
[Comment From Gary]
In the morning chat, you were suggesting that Dallas will run the ball more. I think the numbers came out around 420 to 480. Do you see Romo being more like Big Ben? Big Ben averaged just around 29 attempts a game.
3:48
It's tough to predict numbers, because a lot of that relies on game situations. If the Cowboys are playing from behind a lot, Romo will throw the ball a lot. If they're even or ahead, I think the run-pass ratio will be pretty balanced, as it is for the Steelers.
3:49
[Comment From Guest]
Miles Austin has never proven he can stay healthy in any seaon. Why would the cowboys think any different will happen this year?
3:50
There's a difference between thinking and hoping.
3:50
[Comment From Josh from Arkansas]
Why do you rank the Cowboys so low in the East? What do the Giants and Eagles have that we don't?
3:51
Well, the list starts with playoff wins in the last 12 years.
3:51
[Comment From Marc]
With expected improved coverage in the secondary, will Ware improve on sack totals from last year
3:52
You're setting yourself up to be disappointed if you think Ware will have more than 20 sacks. No player in NFL history has ever had more than one 20-sack season, much less do it in back-to-back years. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it'd be a historic achievement.
3:52
[Comment From Marcus]
Who is this #83 WR? Looks fast, any news on him? Think he'll be a factor in the WR race?
3:52
His name is Julian Hawkins. He has no chance to make the team.
3:52
[Comment From SixFiveCowboy]
Hi Tim, We fans appreciate the live updates you're providing. Do you sense a lack of energy from the team in this training camp in terms of intensity?
3:53
I wouldn't say that. There's just a lot less drama in this camp than there was last season when Papa Joe Simpson was watching T.O., Pacman, etc. with Hard Knocks cameras catching all the action.
3:53
[Comment From AJay Agliolio]
Are any players getting in trouble for twittering and ustreaming?? cough...Marty B... cough... Sensabaugh... cough... Jesse Holley... cough... Stanback...
3:55
No. As long as they don't cross the line and do it on their own time, they're not breaking any team rules. If it appeared that it was getting in the way of them taking care of their football business, the coaches wouldn't hesitate to address it, but that certainly doesn't seem to be the case for Bennett or Sensabaugh, who are both having good camps.
3:55
[Comment From RC]
Too many times last year we say Ware out in coverage on a big third down. I'm no football genius, but aren't there other ways to keep our biggest rusher rushing the quarterback?
3:56
Don't think that happened many times on third down, when Ware had his hand on the ground as a nickel/dime DE on the vast majority of snaps.
And I don't think pressure put on the QB ranks very high on the list of things the Cowboys did wrong last season, since they did lead the league with 59 sacks.
3:56
[Comment From Blaze]
If the Cowboys fold again this season and Wade Philips is given the boot as head coach, do you think he'll find another job as a head coach in the league (with so many teams looking toward young, up and coming head coaches, legend coaches known for post season success, or internal assistants)? I for one am intrigued about the Head Coach/Def. Coordinator title that has been established with him. If he doesn't find another head coaching job, would he want retain his job as defensive coordinator here, or would it be too much of a pride issue (especially if Garrett is promoted)? Would Jerry even be open to that with Wade, at that point? One more in regard to coaches....name one coach on this current squad (if there is one) who looks to have, in your mind, potential to be a possible replacement as a head coach in this league one day (i.e. tony Sporano)?
3:57
This is Phillips' last shot as a head coach. Nobody is going to hire a sixtysomething head coach who hasn't won a playoff game at his three previous stops.
I think he has too much pride to remain as the defensive coordinator, but it's not something that I've ever discussed with him. And it's not something I think is fair to ask him until the time comes ... or is at least inevitable.
3:59
Not handing them the division. Just picking them as favorites.
I think Brandon Jacobs' injury had more to do with their late-season problems than Plaxico's absence. They had success without Plax before Jacobs got hurt. And they're still loaded at tailback with Ahmad Bradshaw moving up a rung on the ladder.
Best running game, best defense = best chance to win the division.
3:59
[Comment From tulane]
why does no one point out when continually picking them as heavy favorites to win the East that the giants also lost 3 of 4 in december (not including their playoff loss in jan) and were a paltry 3-4 without plax? The giants dont seem to be close to their 07 championship team considering the loss of their #1 wr, their #2 rb, and injuries to boley, robbins, and bernard, so why is everyone (including yourself) handing them the division?
4:00
Got the A&Q reversed again.
4:00
[Comment From Aaron]
I don't mind the Cowboys flying under the radar..but there is nothing to suggest that the Giants and Eagles are that much (if any) better than the Cowboys at this point. Eli was exposed without Burress and the Eagles have an inexperienced receiver corps and an aging back. Cowboys win this division going away.
4:00
This is an example of the kind of comment that should go in the normal comments section at the bottom of the post, by the way.
4:01
[Comment From Matt]
Tim, getting back to physical camps, injuries are a part of the game. Don't you think it's better for them to go all out? Peter King this AM said the most physical camps by far have been Baltimore, Philly, and Pittsburgh. Those also happen to be some of the best teams in NFL. Coincidence? I think not! What say you?
4:02
If Wade Phillips' training camps were too soft, wouldn't the Cowboys stumble out of the gates? They're 7-1 in September during Wade's watch.
Not saying that one way is right and the other is wrong. I just don't think it's a reason to rip Phillips, although there are plenty of others.
4:02
[Comment From Shabaz from Dallas]
Tim, can you honestly say that Romo has shown steady improvement in terms of throws and reads as camp as progressed these last few days?
4:03
Well, the offense as a whole stunk up the joint this morning, so no. But I thought that Romo looked sharp over the weekend, but he still hasn't clicked with coachable WR Roy Williams in competitive action.
4:03
[Comment From Marty B]
Am I a potential #3 threat behind my boy Roy and Rice (J-Wit)?
4:03
Yessir.
4:04
[Comment From L.J.]
Getting dinged on a regular basis is usually what makes a QB gun-shy, and inefffective, wouldn't you agree?
4:04
It's definitely a lot harder for a quarterback to play well when he's getting the hell beat out of him. And that happened too often to Romo last season.
4:04
[Comment From Wayne]
Hey Tim do you think the boys should pratice any outside or no?
4:05
They will practice outside once they return to Valley Ranch. Three weeks is plenty of time to acclimate to the heat.
4:05
[Comment From Shon]
We all know the track record drafting OL. Does Jerry just not have the right people in the scouting department? I mean really Tim how hard is it to find an athletic 325 lb man with balance and excellent footwork.
4:06
Don't have a good answer, but that reminds me to poke around a little bit about this to see if there's some sort of trend they've identified other than all these guys being busts at the same position.
4:07
[Comment From AJay Agliolio]
Speaking of Ustream... any chance someone could ustream the practices for those of us who are unable to be there??
4:07
That violates NFL media rules.
4:07
[Comment From Whitey]
What's the word with Olshansky? Does he look like he's going to be an adequate replacement for Canty?
4:07
Adequate? Yes. But not a guy you notice on a regular basis.
4:07
[Comment From oscar]
do you think jay ratliff could be better then hainsworth from the skins./sorry about my spelling
4:08
Not sure I'd go that far, but I think that Jay Ratliff has worked his way into the conversation about elite DTs and is a heck of a bargain with a five-year, $20.5 million deal. He'll have every right to ask to renegotiate if he puts up another Pro Bowl year.
4:09
Looks like we're about to get a little action.
4:10
7-on-7 with ball at the plus-22 to start. O-line and D-line are doing separate position drills.
4:11
Romo intermediate out to Witten in front of Mike Jenkins in zone. ... Hitch to Romo after Romo muffed the snap for an equipment dude. ... Alan Ball working as the second slot guy in the dime.
4:12
On third-and-six, Witten moved the sticks by catching a bullet between Carpenter and Newman after running an option route. ... Marty B got wide open over the middle and muscled through Ball at the goal line for a 10-yard TD.
4:14
Witten got great separation from Pat Watkins on an out in the back of the end zone for an easy 4-yard TD. ... Mike Hamlin led the crowd to meet Felix Jones at the line of scrimmage after a swing pass. Crayton was open in the end zone on an in cut on the other side of the field.
4:15
Marty B looks smoooooooth catching a seam route from Kitna for a 16-yard TD with a safety on his back. ... Great separation by Bennett on out vs. Matt Stewart to catch ball inside 5. Might have scored on that one, too, if he runs over a DB at the 2.
4:17
DeAngelo Smith broke up a pass in the end zone, getting inside position and running step for step with him. ... FB Julius Crosslin got knocked on his can by Bradie James after catching a ball over the middle. Too bad he was 3 yards deep in the end zone.
4:18
Sensabaugh had an athletic PBU vs. Bennett in the front of the end zone. With the offense working from the 5, Bennett ran an option route, and Kitna put the ball to the outside, away from Sensabaugh, who managed to get a hand around there. ... Incomplete out to Mike Jefferson.
4:20
Romo tried to hit Roy Williams on a comeback route, but Courtney Brown had great coverage and batted the ball away. ... Romo dumped the ball off in the flat to Felix Jones. I watched Williams the whole play, and he was wide open on a skinny post and showed a little frustration after he didn't get the ball, putting his hands in the air.
4:21
Romo hit Austin over the middle at the sticks. ... Romo to Witten on a short hook.
4:24
Working inside the 10, Romo hit Witten on an out. Mickens pushed Witten out of bounds at the 1. ... Romo to Roy Williams for a TD!!!! First time that's ever happened outside of Standridge Stadium!!!! It was a 3-yard job on a fade route over Mike Mickens. Romo threw it to the back right pylon, and Williams made the catch look easy, going up and snatching it with two hands.
4:25
McGee comeback to Willie Reid. ... McGee to Scott Chandler in the flat. Boring is the best word I can come up with to describe McGee's camp performance so far.
4:26
McGee hook to Chandler in front of Brooking. ... McGee hit John Phillips for a 10-yard TD over the middle vs. the first team, but he held the ball for a looooooong time.
4:28
McGee swing pass to Keon Lattimore. ... Last pass of the session was an incomplete pass to Manny Johnson on a crossing route in the back of the end zone. Newman had great coverage.
4:28
[Comment From Cowboys fan in Nebraska]
Romo should throw more balls toward Roy Williams, he catches almost every throw to him. How have they looked today?
4:29
Romo has thrown the ball to Williams four times today. One was dropped, one was broken up by Orlando Scandrick, one was broken up by Courtney Brown and the last one was a 3-yard TD on a fade route.
4:29
[Comment From Heath]
Has anyone made a comparison of Romo losing TO being similar to Favre losing Sharpe after his first three years as a starter? The numbers seem REAL close of the first three years.
4:29
You mind emailing me that idea? Interesting comparison.
4:29
[Comment From Bobby Carpenter]
If Bradie James goes down (knock on wood), will I take his spot or am I strickly a weakside ILB?
4:30
If either inside LB goes down, I think Bobby Carpenter would have to start. Carpenter is primarily working on the strong side behind James. Jason Williams works with the second team on the weak side.
4:30
More team drills. From the plus-36.
4:32
Nice job by Barber of picking up blitzing Brooking, but Romo's out to Crayton fell incomplete. Terence Newman had great coverage again. ... Razzle-dazzle didn't work on reverse to Crayton, who was met by a bunch of defenders before he got back to the line of scrimmage. Romo looked at Ratliff like he was going to block him but wisely thought better of it.
4:34
Newman is having a heck of a practice. He just broke up a skinny post in the end zone from Romo to Williams. Gerald Sensabaugh was in position to deliver a KO blow. ... Mental bust for Marty B, who was going in motion as an H-back. Romo tried to get him in the right spot, but they had to huddle up again.
4:35
Nice cutback for Barber, starting off left tackle and slashing into the end zone. ... Crayton couldn't make the one-handed catch after Romo lofted an out in the end zone over Courtney Brown. Some creative play-action/
4:36
From the 5, Romo to Bennett in the flat. Pushed out of bounds at the 2 by Jerome Carter.
4:37
Kitna rolled right and threw a strike to Miles Austin, who tippy-toed to get both feet in bounds. Steve Octavien ran right through Felix Jones on blitz pickup. ... Another strike for Kitna on a crossing route to Kevin Ogletree in front of Brown.
4:39
Kitna to Bennett on a hook. Jason Williams was in position to make the tackle after the catch. ... Fullback dive to Julius Crosslin.
4:40
Scandrick might have been flagged for holding on a Kitna fade to Hurd. .... Here come Rudy Carpenter.
4:42
Bobby Carpenter came untouched up the middle for an easy sack. ... Some idiot is hollering, 'C'mon, Romo!" over and over. This might confuse poor Rudy. ... Lattimore run up middle.
4:44
Slant to Ogletree in front of Brown. Lattimore picked up Pat Watkins on the blitz well. ... Botched exchange between Procter and Carpenter.
4:45
False start, Pat McQuistan. ... Rolling right, Carpenter overthrew John Phillips on out in the back of the end zone.
4:45
Carpenter hook to Ogletree for 5-yard Td between Mickens and Jason Williams.
4:47
Romo curl to Crayton. Mike Jenkins made a break on the ball but couldn't get a hand on it. ... Another nice cutback by Barber, this one on a toss right. He cut up the middle for at least 20 yards. Newman got to him at the 5, but I like Barber's odds to carry him into the end zone.
4:49
Romo hook to Crayton in front of Brooking. ... Pretty pass by Romo on a swing route by Felix Jones. Romo pump-faked, getting OLB Victor Butler to bite, and lofted it outside and a few yards up the field to let Jones run under it with a lot of green in front of him. ... Romo drag to Austin for a 4-yard TD.
4:50
Incompletion on a Romo fade to Williams. Courtney Brown might have gotten a piece of the ball in the back right corner of the end zone.
4:51
Steve Octavien blew by Pat McQuistan for an easy sack of Kitna. ... Counter pitch to Choice. Octavien might have made the play in the backfield.
4:52
Screen to Choice had a lot of congestion in front of him. ... Leonard Davis is getting his first team reps at LT now.
4:54
Incompletion, didn't catch the WR. Was watching Davis vs. Ware, but they didn't go full speed. ... Kitna threw it through the back of the end zone with Ratliff chasing him down on a bootleg.
4:55
QB draw to Kitna. Bradie James resisted the urge to knock off his head at the goal line.
Practice over. Gotta go.
I'll leave you with the shameles plug: Follow me on Twitter @tmacmahon.
3:05
Gotta go.
