One of the few times this season where our Dallas Cowboys will be the prohibitive favorite

Cowboys a rare favorite

As corny as the method was, the hanging of mousetraps inside the Cowboys’ locker room complete with cheese served a purpose. A win today against the Detroit Lions (4-5) would give the Cowboys a three-game winning streak, and keep them in first place in the NFC East. A loss, and not only do the Cowboys move closer to .500, but they again raise doubts about their contender status.

Today is one of the few times this season where they will be the prohibitive favorite. One of a very few “gimmes” on their schedule.

So far, the Cowboys are 2-0 in their “gimme” games; at San Francisco and at home against the Arizona Cardinals. And the Lions represent the last “gimme.

“We feel good about where we stand in terms of our record, but what makes me optimistic is that our best football is ahead,” Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe said. “But it has to happen quickly. I am optimistic because I think this team is better than the way we’ve played.”
