It looks like the Dallas Cowboys won't release DE Greg Ellis

It looks like the Cowboys won't release DE Greg Ellis.

Ellis saw far fewer snaps in the 3-4 defense Dallas went with this past season, but owner Jerry Jones told the defensive end at the Senior Bowl that he'll be back with the club in 2006. Ellis notched 8 sacks in '05.

Mac Engel, of the Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys DE Greg Ellis could return to the team in 2006. Ellis' agent said he has spoken with Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells with news that would be pleasing to his client. "He said he intends to play him more," said James Williams, who represents Ellis. "The ball is in the Cowboys' court. Greg is still under contract. Bottom line: We anticipate sitting down with the Cowboys soon to talk about his future." There is a good chance a decision will be made before Ellis is due a $500,000 roster bonus next month.
