Jerry on "The Ticket" today

Thanks to TrickBlue from a sports forum:

Jerry:

1) The negotiations were tough and they really challenged the league ownership.
We will have to be more efficient, as a league, to gain the maximum benefit for this agreement.
2) We are happy for the media and the fans.
3) With our revenue and abilities, it would have been shameful to not come to an agreemant. I had to take off my Cowboys jersey to do what was best for the league as a whole. I had to adjust some of my thinking and will have to get used to working without some of my resources.
4) We complained that the lower-market teams will have to make a bigger effort to promote their own team in order to be fair to everyone. With left that in place in the new agreement.
5) Yes, working without a cap would have been advantageous to the Cowboys as I could have spent alot.
6) There is no correlation in increased spending to the quality of the teams.
7) We have some key players we are targeting as FA's. we have been looking closely at who we want and how much we will spend.
8) We have the chance to be a better team this year. We were playing pretty well until Flo went down last year.
9) In general there are alot of mistakes made by overpaying players in a bidding war. If you can stay in a moderate range with those players, you probably don't make the big mistake and have some upside for players over the next 2-3 years.
OL, FS, PK and WR are issues we need to address in ***ency. FS and OL are the positions we are looking at most closely.
