Opinion: The front runners for Terrell Owens were the Kansas City Chiefs

Here is what I see when I hear the talk about KC:
1. Philly has reportedly been offered by the Chiefs a second day draft pick for Owens. The Chiefs are not in good enough shape cap-wise to compete for Owens on the open FA market. So to land him they need to trade for him before Owens is released sometime between now and nest week when he is due a 7 mill dollar bonus.
2. Problem is the Chiefs have indicated that they can only sign Owens to a one-year deal. Owens has made it clear that he wants a long-term contract and a one-year deal is out of the question.
3. Philly would prefer that Owens go to KC and not to an NFC East Rival, like Dallas. A trade between to division rivals is highly unlikely. Not to mention that the Eagles really do not want to face Owens twice a year.
4. In less than a week Owens will be released and on the open market, and will be out of the price range of the Chiefs.
5. Dallas, however, does have the means and money to offer Owens a long term deal and is in good enough shape with regards to the cap to sign Owens.
Eventually the decision will rest with T.O.
Does he want a one-year deal in K.C.? Or does he want a long term deal in Dallas? The ball is in his court on this one.
