Drew Henson looks legit

I've been watching a few NFL Europe games and I have to say that I'm really impressed with Drew Henson. Most of the QBs look terrible. Terrible mistakes, they look lost, horrible throws etc. But Henson looks pretty darn good if you ask me. Hes got good mobility, a good arm, and he can throw on the run. The kid has something I haven't seen from any of other Qbs I've seen over there - MOXIE.

Today the Rhein Fire were flubbering around in the 2nd quarter and fell behind in the game. They insert Drew Henson in in the 2nd half, and he led them back to a victory. He didn't have earth shattering statistics, but they were very efficient. And the announcers were saying his receivers dropped 3 of his early passes.

On one touchdown pass he waited and waited, scrambled to the right, and threw accross his body hitting Zuriel Smith for a short TD. On the next touchdown he did the same thing, but this time scrambling to the left. He also had a great pass on 3rd and 12 that kept the first td drive alive.

Guys I really think this kid can play in the NFL!

And for the season:

51 of 86 (59.3%)
586 yards (6.8 YPA)
4 TD, 1 INT
90.6 Rating

The pluses are:

1) The TDs to INTs ratio is VERY nice, mostly because he's only thrown 1 pick in 86 attempts (I'd like to see another TD or two in those attempts, though)...

2) He has shown nice ability to deal with a pass rush, the Fire hasn't done that good a job of protecting him...

3) 4-0... that's the bottom line...

What he could improve on:

1) I'd like to see a higher completion percentage... 62.5 per cent is my benchmark here... of course, he doesn't have the greatest receivers out there (too many drops), and he has been forced by the rush to throw the ball away too often...

2) His yards per attempt is kind of mediocre, especially for that comparatively low level of competition... again, though, having little time in the pocket doesn't give you much chance to take shots downfield...

Henson hasn't been as dominating as I'd hoped over there, it seems to be one mediocre to kinda bad game, one pretty good game... but when it's all said and done, a QBR over 90 shows that he's more than holding his own over there, and it seems like his comfort level increases with each game...
