Quincy Carter signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Aloutettes

Quincy Carter signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Aloutettes of the CFL.

It was only a matter of time. It's hard to believe Carter was starting a playoff game under Bill Parcells just over two year ago.

Former Cowboys quarterback lands in the Canadian Football League.

Former Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets starting quarterback Quincy Carter signed a one-year contract plus an option the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.

Carter, 28, was orginally chosen by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2001 NFL draft. In eight starts that season, he completed 90 of 176 passes for 1,072 yards, seven interceptions and five touchdowns. He had his best season in 2003, starting every game for Dallas, completing 292 of 505 passes for 3,302 yards, 21 interceptions and 17 touchdowns.

He went to the New York Jets in 2004, playing in seven games.

''I'm proud to join the Montreal Alouettes," Carter told the globeandmail.com. ''This is a great
