IRVING – Nearly three weeks before his first minicamp with the Cowboys, Terrell Owens is settling in.
Owens' publicist, Kim Etheredge, said the high-profile receiver is planning to move into a luxury downtown condo, and he's going to host a pair of football camps in June for kids ages 7-17.
Owens could not be reached for comment.
The "Making of Champions" camps are scheduled for June 7-8 at Birdville High School in North Richland Hills and June 9-10 at Duncanville High School. The camps are scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The camps promise participants will learn fundamentals and techniques from Owens and other active and retired players.
The camps cost $195 per person with a registration deadline of May 31. Scholarships will be awarded based on an essay.
Owens' Web site, terrellowens.com, has registration information.
TO hasn't spent a lot of time in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and coach Bill Parcells wants him in town learning the offense at least a week before the team's only off-season minicamp starts June 2.
Owens, who signed a three-year deal worth $25 million, including $10 million in salary and bonuses this season, will live in a luxury high-rise condo befitting one of the NFL's highest-paid players. It features a private theatre, lounge, library and a state-of-the-art exercise room in addition to a fabulous view of the city.
