RECAP: 8/4 Press conference thread
Recap by cowboyjoe from a sports forum:
TO missed pratice session again today, when asked about the problem, Parcells said that I am not really concerned about it. He TO has got to get ready to play. He has a lot of work to do so the sooner he can get started the better it will be.
Later, parcells said, on the situation hamstring with TO, that I dont think its an injury, I just think he is worried about it. Thats really what I think is going on.
Asked about bobby carpenter, Parcells said he is doing just fine, he is Smart! I would say mentally were kind of moved him around a little bit, but he seems to be able to handle that. If you remember he said a few days ago about rookies, like Hatcher, Parcells didnt like moving them around, so i think he is getting Carpenter ready, moreso than he did with burnett or ware last year.
Parcells also said, carpenter is pretty much a kid, that kind of expects anything. You cant rattle him. He kind of knows that you might be asking him to do a couple of different things.
Since carpenter has been playing mostly on nickel defense.
Talking about Keylon Kincade, he is a much improved player, as well. very complete kindof guy, he has good vision too. and I think he will be a very good special teams player.
Talking about Henson, parcells said, he just needs to play better then he is playing right now.
ON Skyler Green, Parcells said his best chance is as a punt returner.
the cowboys will have pratice friday evening at 5 pm pacific time, first scrimmage at 2:30 on saturday. Parcells said i dont know how many plays we will run, but well run around 90 i think.
Parcells further stated this is really the toughest time of the year for pro football players, they are tired, they dont the the light at the end of the tunnel. By that same token, we need to be a little more battle hardened than we already are. Hope that helps guys, joe
