These are in order by position first, then their place on the depth chart.
Greg Ellis, SLB – Moving from DE after five years leading in sacks.
Al Singleton, SLB – Ellis' mentor missed 11 games the last two seasons.
Bradie James, MLB – He led '05 Cowboys in tackles during his first year as starter.
Ryan Fowler, MLB – High school QB filled in when Dat Nguyen was hurt last season.
Oliver Hoyte, MLB – Special-teams play put undrafted rookie on the roster
Akin Ayodele, JLB – MacArthur High grad stepped in as free agent from Jacksonville.
Bobby Carpenter, JLB – Also backs up at strong side, but didn't dress for opening game.
Demarcus Ware, WLB – After eight sacks as a rookie, complements Ellis from weak side.
Kevin Burnett, WLB – Last year's second-round pick didn't play much because of injuries.
