IRVING - Flozell Adams has been brief this week when his head coach has asked how he's doing.
"Fabulous," has been the answer from the Cowboys' left tackle.
Although he has been limited to roughly 25 plays in the preseason after suffering a calf injury in the first quarter of the second preseason game, it sounds as if he will start Sunday.
"He has improved steadily throughout the week," Cowboys coach Bill Parcells said. "I think he's good to go. I'm not positive, but I think he is."
It would be the first game for Adams since he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament on Oct. 16, 2005, against the New York Giants. He missed the final 10 games of the season.
Parcells said he would only take one of the other tackles -- rookie Pat McQuistan or veteran Jason Fabini -- to Sunday's game as a backup. He didn't specify which one.
Fabini has played both positions, and McQuistan has seen time almost exclusively at left tackle.
Jags injury update
It's unlikely that three-time Jaguars Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud will play Sunday. He has played in 80 consecutive regular-season games, but suffered an ankle injury in Wednesday's practice. Stroud is listed as questionable for the game, but he did not participate in team practices Thursday or Friday.
Linebacker Mike Peterson is practicing with a brace after he suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee during the Jaguars' final preseason game. He remains questionable, but he did participate in team workouts Friday.
