Pettiti, Copper, Stanley gone; nine to practice squad

In desperate need of offensive line and special teams help, the New Orleans Saints claimed Rob Petitti and Terrance Copper off waivers after they were released by the Dallas Cowboys . This reunites both Petitti and Copper with Sean Payton, the Saints' rookie head coach, who was the Cowboys' assistant head coach from 2003-2005.

Sixth-round draft pick Montavious Stanley, who couldn't adapt to the nose tackle position during training camp, was claimed by the St. Louis Rams and signed to their practice squad.

The Dallas Cowboys signed the following players to their practice squad: QB Matt Baker; DE Stephen Bowen; G D'Anthony Batiste; CB Quincy Butler; TE Tony Curtis; WR Skyler Green; RB Keylon Kincade and TE Jerome Collins, who was released by the Rams.

The Cowboys also inked Swedish linebacker Carl-Johan Bjork. Typically, teams are only allowed a maximum of eight players on their practice squad but Bjork is an exception as part of the NFL's International Practice Squad Program.
