Cowboys re-signed FB Lousaka Polite and placed LB Greg Ellis on injured reserve with torn Achilles' tendon, ending his season.

Polite is a Bill Parcells favorite but has bounced back and forth between the roster and the street because he's not as good a lead blocker as Oliver Hoyte. Ellis will have a long road back from Achilles surgery.
