Cowboys Mailbag: Romo-to-Witten a clutch combination

Jason Witten is Tony Romo's closest friend on the Cowboys and his roommate on the road.
He's also Romo's favorite target in clutch situations.
Romo's 42-yard strike to Witten in the final seconds Sunday in the Meadowlands wasn't the first time the two hooked up with the game on the line.
Remember the Washington game on Nov. 5?
With the score knotted at 19-all, Romo found Witten down the middle for a 28-yard gain to the Redskins' 17.
Had it not been for Troy Vincent's block of Mike Vanderjagt's 35-yard field goal attempt on the ensuing play, Romo would be 6-0 as a starter.
"I've said that if I can have one quarterback for one drive, it's Tony Romo," tight end Jason Witten said. "He doesn't run great, he doesn't have the strongest arm. But in the end, I believe he will make the plays to win."
Before the season started, Tom Brady, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning were the quarterbacks you would want in the huddle with your team trailing by 3 with 80 yards to go, 2 minutes on the clock and no timeouts.
But isn't it time to add Romo to that list?
With Witten as his go-to guy, you bet.
