Parcells not buying T.O. hype

Dallas Cowboys coach Bill Parcells doesn't have a problem with receiver Terrell Owens ignoring him, mainly because he doesn't believe it happens.
Owens said he didn't hear a word of Parcells' speech to the team on Monday about how championship teams conduct themselves this time of year.

"The championship speech? I must have went to sleep on that one," Owens said Wednesday.

Parcells isn't buying it.

"He sucks you guys in," Parcells told reporters Friday. "He hears everything I say. He can tell me three weeks from now what I said today. He sucks you guys right in, so consider yourself sucked."

Owens is tied for second in the NFL in touchdown receptions with eight. He leads the Cowboys in receptions (69) and receiving yards (915). He also has a league-high 12 drops.

Rookie waived: The Cowboys waived punt returner Skyler Green, a fourth-round pick from LSU, to make room for recently acquired free safety Tony Parrish.

The Cowboys signed Parrish after San Francisco waived him. Parrish, a nine-year veteran, has 30 career interceptions, including two against Dallas last season.

Parrish, who shattered his right fibula last year, will compete with veteran Keith Davis and rookie Pat Watkins for playing time.

"He's got experience," Parcells said. "He's played well. He had several interceptions last year. Just looking, I think he's got a chance to play."

The Cowboys will likely try to sign Green to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Tough tackle: Right tackle Marco Colombo is having a surprisingly strong season despite playing in a division with several outstanding defensive ends.

"He has given up one sack and that's because (quarterback Tony) Romo stepped up into the pocket the other night," Parcells said. "And he has no holding penalties. Pretty good. One sack and no holding penalties; playing in this division — not bad."

The offensive line has played much better the last six games, all of which Romo has started.

Romo has been sacked seven times during that span. Drew Bledsoe was sacked 16 times in the first six games.
