Cowboys received permission to talk to Norv Turner about their head coaching position

After officially hiring former Dolphins QB coach Jason Garrett as their offensive coordinator, the Cowboys received permission to talk to Norv Turner about their head coaching position.

Garrett reportedly still has an outside chance to be the head coach. That would seem to indicate that a defensive minded coach (not Turner), would have the edge to get the head coaching job. Turner, Wade Phillips and Garrett are all familiar with each other, and should be willing to work together if asked.
