Mosley Blog: Is Bill coming back?

The players are talking now but I raced back to blog headquarters to let you know Bill Parcells talked about his future this afternoon.

Parcells said that he and owner Jerry Jones have already agreed to how the process will go after the season.

"I haven't thought about it yet," Parcells said.

But the fact that he spent several minutes discussing the topic in the lead-up to a playoff game speaks volumes.

My gut tells me that, no matter what happens in the postseason, he's going to retire.

"We have an understanding as to what going to happen," he said about his agreement with Jones.

He did say that how his team finishes the season will not factor into his decision.

Parcells wants to see where his "energy level" is after the season.

When I asked which way he was leaning, he finally changed the topic. But the fact that he took that many questions on the topic wasn't simply him being gracious.

He's publicly saying it will be his choice whether he returns. We'll have to wait and see what Jerry thinks about that.

This has been a special report from the DallasNew.com blog department.

love,
