Owens underwent successful surgery

Terrell Owens underwent successful surgery to repair a torn tendon in his troublesome right ring finger Thursday.

The injury is expected to heal fully before next season but he's not been given a timetable to return to the field. Owens, due a $3 million bonus in June, has said all the right things since Dallas' first-round playoff loss, but a decision on whether he'll return to the Cowboys is unlikely to be made until after Bill Parcells decides his future.
