RECAP: Terrence Newman with BaD Radio on The Ticket...
RECAP by TrickBlue from a sports forum:
Newman:
Hey, I still work for the same guy I worked for yesterday, the one that signs the checks.
I think it came as a shock to everyone on the team.
The coaching carousel has been heating up lately. Now everyone pretty much has their new guy except for us.
I had a great relationship with Bill as did many other players on this team. He drafted me and allowed me a chance to play.
I think maybe his age and his family being up North had a lot to do with it.
I don't buy for a minute that it had to do with some of the crazy stuff that happened to us this year. That happens on every team.
I was in the weight room when I found out. I think we all found out at the same time.
I have no idea who the next guy will be. We will wait and when it happens it happens.
In my head, I'll throw my name in the ring. I don't know who is really available now. It's all up in the air.
We are very close to making it deep into the playoffs. What happened this year was freak and I think it had nothing to do with him leaving. We have the team to make it there and we are already gearing up for next year. We have a lot of firepower on both offense and defense.
We just didn't make plays when we had to this year. It had nothing to do with over or under achieving. We didn't take advantage of the opportunities we had. It falls squarely on us as players.
There is nothing we can do about what happened in Seattle this year. You have to move on and get ready for a new year. We have to make our presence felt early and get some breaks.
Cowher isn't going to happen IMO. I don't know if Stoops is ready to become the Cowboys coach, but since Switzer was able to win a SB here, I like our chances with a coach from OU.
Whoever we get, we will welcome him with open arms.
