Phillips' son hasn't talked with Cowboys about a job

Baylor quarterbacks coach Wes Phillips said Friday he hasn't been approached about joining his dad's staff with the Dallas Cowboys.

His father, Wade Phillips, was named the seventh head coach in Cowboys history on Thursday.

"Nothing has changed for me," Wes Phillips said. "I'm just happy for my dad. I've got a great job. We're going to win some games at Baylor."

Phillips just completed his first season at Baylor after spending two years at Division II West Texas A&M.

Wes Phillips, 27, said he would like to work with his dad before he retires. Wade Phillips began his career as an assistant coach for his dad, Bum Phillips, with the Oilers, and later was defensive coordinator in New Orleans.

"The biggest thing would be working with my dad," Phillips said. "He enjoyed working with his dad. That's something that would be a dream of mine, getting the opportunity to work with him before he retires."
