The Big Lead has the exclusive first-person account this morning of how Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens ran into each other at Shaquille O'Neal's party last night and shared a hug.
Unbeknownst to Owens, Donovan McNabb had just entered the party and walked past his former enemy with his bodyguards.
At this point, somebody in Owens' crew told the Cowboys receiver that McNabb had entered. They began to make their way over to McNabb.
After a few minutes, the bodyguards cleared a path, and Owens and McNabb shared a handshake, followed by a brief hug, and then a final handshake. There were some words exchanged – one can only imagine – and that was it. Feud over in less than 90 seconds.
So much has happened in the interim that it's hard to believe that it was just two years ago that Owens turned in one of the all-time great Super Bowl performances while McNabb turned in one of the all-time horrible clock management performances. Yeah, everything that's happened since then has reminded us that McNabb is a class act and Owens is a jerk, but still: At Super Bowl time, you've got to admit that the jerk stepped up and the class act didn't.
