One year under Bill Parcells was apparently enough for Pat Watkins. The former Florida State and Lincoln defensive back is happy that Wade Phillips is the new Dallas Cowboys coach.
“Everything is going pretty well,” Watkins said. “I'm now in the process with a new coach, Mr. Wade Phillips. He's pretty much enjoyable - nice laid-back young man or laid-back old man, actually. I'm happy to see him (in Dallas) and see what the season brings.
"We've changed the defense, and I'm trying to learn it. I think our defense this year is going to be a little more aggressive than last year, and I'm looking forward to playing in it.”
Watkins, selected in the fifth round by the Cowboys, saw considerable playing time as an NFL rookie last season. Watkins worked out with his former teammates on Tuesday during a visit to Tallahassee.
