Huskies Football: Updates on Goldson, Stanback
Isaiah Stanback and Dashon Goldson, the only Huskies drafted in the 2007 NFL Draft, are in the news this week.
Stanback, who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys early in the fourth round, will not open camp with his team. While his foot is healed after suffering a gruesome Lisfranc sprain last October, Stanback developed shin splints. Cowboys trainers believe the shin splints were caused from over-compensating while getting the foot healthy.
Here is a piece on Stanback (and the other Cowboys that won't be starting camp with the team) from DallasCowboys.com.
Goldson, who played cornerback for the Huskies in '06, was also drafted in the fourth round by the San Francisco 49ers. He signed a four-year contract with the 49ers and will play free safety. Terms of the deal were not released.
Here is the story from the San Francisco Chronicle.
