Romo and T.O. sitting in a tree

Superstar columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor saw significance in Tony Romo giving T.O. the Carrie Underwood treatment, whispering sweet nothings in the star receiver's ear as they stood on the sideline last night. The Romo-T.O. lovefest continued when they gave side-by-side interviews in the locker room after the game.
That Romo is one sharp kid. He would never discuss this issue, but he knows how quickly T.O.'s relationships with QBs can turn ugly, and Romo isn't going to let that happen here.

A grumpy T.O. might be the league's biggest distraction that doesn't involve pit bulls. A happy T.O., even at his advanced age, might be the league's best receiver.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out which T.O. a QB would want. It just takes some pretty good people skills -- and a good, accurate arm -- to keep him happy.
Romo qualifies in both categories. He has a ton of swagger, but he doesn't have a Donovan McNabb-like ego that demands he's the most important player on the team. He has no problem pumping up T.O.'s head, knowing that it will only inflate his own stats and improve the Cowboys' chances of breaking their playoff win drought.
