Cowboys at Dolphins: Cameron and Phillips Together Again

by Sportz Assassin

2007 Records:
Dallas Cowboys 1-0 (1st in NFC East)
Miami Dolphins 0-1 (t-2nd in AFC East)

When the Cowboys have the ball: Judging by the way Washington tired out the Miami front seven, expect a good dose of both Julius Jones and Marion Barber. It may not pay off immediately, but the Redskins piled up nearly 200 yds rushing ... mostly in the 2nd half and overtime... last week. That should open up the passing attack. Miami is without S Yeremiah Bell, hwho is lost for the season. Expect a big game from Terrell Owens.

When the Dolphins have the ball: Expect Cam Cameron to find ways to mess with a down Dallas defense. The Cowboys are without NT Jason Ferguson for the year and are still not sure how effective Terrence Newman will be. The key will be if Ronnie Brown and the Phins run game can do anything [they couldn't against Washington] so that the deep ball will be there for Trent Green, Chris Chambers and Ted Ginn.

The Edge: Dallas has too much talent for Miami. Losing Bell stings against a team with two 'starting' running backs, T.O. and Jason Witten. Just like last week, the Phins defense will become worn ... only a lot sooner.

Keep an eye on:

Cam Cameron vs Wade Phillips - Last year, these two were fighting for the same team. Cameron was the offensive coordinator for the Chargers; Phillips was the defensive coordinator. What that will mean for this game will be quite interesting since their new team's "expertise" units are the weakest.

October 27, 1996 - That was the last time these two teams met in Miami.
