DALLAS (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys claimed linebacker Justin
Rogers and cornerback Evan Oglesby off waivers today and released
cornerback Alan Ball and safety Abram Elam.
Rogers had 11 tackles and two sacks in four preseason games with the New England Patriots, who signed him as a rookie free agent out of SMU after the draft.
Oglesby, who had played with the Baltimore Ravens since December
2005, had 10 tackles and one pass defense in the preseason.
Ball was taken in the seventh round out of Illinois. Elam played
in 15 games last season, primarily as a backup safety and a special
teams player.
