DMN Blog: Train Rex vs. Romo
AP
The Chicago Sun-Times' Mike Mulligan points out that the Bears used a first-round pick on Rex Grossman the same year the Cowboys signed Tony Romo as an undrafted free agent.
Grossman played in a Super Bowl and Romo has yet to win a playoff game, but I don't think even the biggest fan of Da Bears would argue that the Cowboys don't have a significantly better quarterback. Especially after looking at the QB rating rankings -- the undrafted guy is second; the first-round pick is second to last.
In the Bears' defense, it's not like they're the only team that drafted a dud QB in the first round that year. Kyle Boller is a backup in Baltimore, and Byron Leftwich is unemployed after getting cut by the Jaguars.
