The Jerry Jones Show on KTCK - 09/12/07...
RECAP by TrickBlue from a sports forum:
Jerry:
-I thought our OL especially Adams had his best game here. Columbo had a good game. Gurode, I think had his best game ever for us.
Terrell had some good plays but those young WR's looked really good as well.
-I am always around at halftime and I did give Terrell a pep talk as did Jason Garrett. It is discouraging when you don't get a catch in the first half. To his credit, he had no problems with it whatsoever and had a great second half.
-Trades usually come to you rather than you going out to get them so I can't speculate on any trades or moves at this point. We did sign Remi Ayodele who we felt had a really good camp for us.
-I think the defense got tired the other night. I think the NYFG defense got tired as well. The offense doesn't get as tired and I think you saw that the other night. --I feel very good about where we are defensively. SOme of our best players on that side of the ball and I think they will be fine. We did feel the loss of Newman but he will be back and I think we will eb fine.
-I don't have any news one way or the other in regards to TG and Newman. Newman's is just a matter of being able to play with the pain and how bad the pain is. TG's depends on how he feels after the cartlidge removal. We did get good news on that.
-There's no news on a new contract for Romo. It still stands where it was in TC.
There is a possibility we will address it during the season.
-We've moved the ball good for the last two or three years. I think the difference is the more aggressive approach we took at the end of the game. I think that's a sign of things to come in that we will eb much more aggressive. That credit goes to Coach Phillips, Jason and TOny Sparano. I feel our OL is good, we have a good running attack and the WR and QB look good.
-I think it's important the way or RB situation works. It keeps both RB's fresh. Barber has some of the best hands on the team so his presence is very important on 3rd down, and he does create a spark and energy, but Julius is an important piece as well. Having both also gives us good insurance should one go down.
-It's hard for me to comment about the Patriots things as I know nothing about it outside of what I've read. I do know the league is real particular about that. A few years ago I went ot a competition committee. Shottenheimer and Shula were there. They told me that every one knew Dallas' plays before they ran them but they couldn't stop them. So even if you get the plays, you have to have the players to make the plays.
