NBC5i Newy Scruggs Blog: Thoughts From The Cowboys Locker Room

Thoughts From The Cowboys Locker Room

Just my opinion, but I think the Cowboys offense has to step up and score a lot of points to beat the Giants Sunday night at NBC 5.

If the Cowboys can force New York to go point for point, that may play into the Cowboys hands.

If the Giants can mix the run and play action passing, it could hurt the Cowboys in the secondary. If the Cowboys can put up points and do it early in the game, they might force the Giants away from trying to pound Brandon Jacobs and ditch that power running game.

Tight end Jason Witten told me they were not thinking that way, but they know they may have to help the defense.

I saw cornerback Terence Newman in the locker room today and he said he'll tell us something on Friday. Newman may not play because of a foot injury.

Wide receiver Terry Glenn practiced and that is great news for the Cowboys. It was Glenn's first practice since his knee surgery.

The game is big. It's a home game and it's a NFC East game. The Cowboys were just 2-4 in the division last season.
