DMN Blog: Projecting the Cowboys' Pro Bowlers

It's a solid bet that the Cowboys will have more Pro Bowlers than any season since their last Super Bowl appearance. Here are the Cowboys that are headed to Hawaii, based on the first seven games:

QB Tony Romo: He leads NFC quarterbacks in passing yards (1,984), touchdowns (16) and wins (six).

WR Terrell Owens: Ranks second in NFC in receiving yards (556) and third in TD catches (five).

TE Jason Witten: Having one of the best statistical seasons by a tight end in NFL history. And he blocks well, too.

C Andre Gurode: The best offensive linemen for the league's No. 2 offense.

RG Leonard Davis: Combines with Gurode to form an inside duo that wears defenses down.

OLB DeMarcus Ware: Started slow, but has been spectacular in last five games. Has 5.5 sacks, more than any NFC LB other than Seattle's Julian Peterson, and excels against the run. Made the first of many Pro Bowl appearances last season.

SS Roy Williams: Has made four straight trips to Hawaii, based largely on repuation. Why should this year be any different?

P Mat McBriar: Gotta figure that St. Louis' Donnie Jones and San Francisco's Andy Lee, who are both averaging better than 50 yards per punt, will cool off. If it's close, McBriar will get the edge on rep.

Other possibilities: CB Terence Newman, CB Anthony Henry, ILB Bradie James, LT Flozell Adams, RB Marion "The Barbarian" Barber
